- The Historic Sites Program is designed to validate and recognize sites throughout Boone County of historical importance. The Committee also compiles and preserves information on historic buildings in the county and serves in advisory capacity to those nominating their sites to the National Historic Register.
- The Blind Boone Concert Series was created to showcase the historic piano belonging to John William Blind Boone. Local artists perform on the beautifully restored nine-foot concert grand piano, playing classical, blues, and rag-time music, in keeping with the established musical tradition.
- Old Time Fiddle Club Jam Sessions are open to musicians throughout the area and are hosted by longtime archaeologist and fiddler, Howard Marshall.
- Art Exhibits continue to offer regional artists an opportunity to show their work in a public venue in the Montminy Art Gallery. The gallery is the site of several exhibits and artists receptions every year.
- Brown Bag Seminars feature guest lecturers, writers and artists, experts in historic preservation and storytelling. The programs are open to membership and to the public and hosted throughout the year.
- Events at Maplewood held throughout the year include re-enactments of life at the turn of the century, holiday gatherings and teas.
- The Annual Heritage Festival sponsored each fall by Columbia Parks and Recreation highlights native arts, crafts, food, and music.
- The Boone County, Missouri Historical Society is a non-profit organization committed to preserving and interpreting local and regional history.
