Celebrate 100 Years of Girl Scouting ~ Visit the Boone County Museum and Galleries and join millions of Girl Scouts across the globe in a centennial celebration of scouting. The Exhibit features the biography of founder Juliette Gordon Low, and spotlights the cornerstone activities of camping, cookie sales and community service. Includes uniforms from 1912 through present, badges and pins, and camping tools.

Painting Missouri ~ Opening in the Montminy Art Gallery May 3, the spectacular Painting Missouri exhibit by American Impressionist artist Billyo O’Donnell captures the state of Missouri in 114 elegant oil paintings.

Wood Building Dedication ~ Join friends and fans of history in a dedication of the Wood Building, one of Boone County’s treasured historic buildings in Centralia, in Northern Boone County.  The dedicaiton begins at 2 pm with a reception hosted by the Centralia Historical Society in the Centralia Museum immediately following.

Civil War Roundtable ~ Interested in Civil War history? Attend a meeting of the Civil War Roundtable in the Boone County Museum at 6:30, May 15, in the Museum Conference Room.

JUNE

Missouri’s Civil War 1862: Divided At Home ~ Misouri ended 1861 a divided state: Many Missourians supported the goals of the new Republican president Abraham Lincoln, and many supported the goals of the new southern Confederacy and its President Jefferson Davis. Division in Missouri was felt in from statehouse to neighborhoods. The Walters Boone County Museum features a full gallery featuring artifacts of Missouri’s Civil War — including authentic weapons, uniforms and tools of war, and exhibits on life during this tumultous period. 

Trivia Night ~ If you have a head for trivia, strut your stuff and show off your knowledge of Boone County history, television shows, St. Louis Cardinal baseball, current events and other subjects in the BCHS Trivia Night fundraising event. Prizes are amazing for this night of fun.  Sponsors include Scheppers Distributing.  Mark your calendar for June 1 and come  join the fun
