The ‘Blind’ Boone Piano Concert Series

The Boone County History & Culture Center is proud to be the home of John William ‘Blind’ Boone’s 9-foot, custom-made, grand piano. The piano is a starring attraction in an annual six-concert season.

The 2018 Blind Boone Concert Series Tickets are now on sale! Call 573-443-8936.

All Blind Boone Piano Concerts are open to the public. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children under 14 for each individual concert. Season Pass tickets are currently on sale at $90, through December 16th. After December 16th the price will rise to $100. All proceeds support the Historical Society and the Piano’s Endowment Trust Fund and the the series is supported by Columbia’s Office of Cultural Affairs and the Missouri Arts Council.

All concerts take place in the piano’s home, the Montminy Art Gallery. Each program will always feature a 5-10 minute opening by a young, local pianist. The young guest artists are usually between 5 and 14 years of age. We’re very pleased to be able to introduce this fantastic instrument, a piece of our local history, to today’s up and coming young musicians.
