The Winter Wonderland at Maplewood House & Holiday Model Toy Train Exhibit

Boone County Museum & Galleries is proud to open a brand-new exhibit about the mysterious Korla Pandit.  The exhibit tells the story of a young African-American man from a respected family in Columbia who went to Hollywood seeking fame and fortune.  He found both by reinventing himself as an east Indian from New Delhi with phenomenal skills on the piano and organ.  Though masking himself as something other than black, he ironically became the first black performer to have his own television show.  The exhibit will run through July, 2017 and coincide with a nationwide PBS broadcast on March 21 of ‘Korla’, a documentary.  Come see the story for yourself in our East Gallery and take home your own copy of the 90-minute documentary.  Available on DVD for $25 in the Museum Store.
