Patchwork Stories:
A Celebration of Quilts
Quilts tell stories—of family, creativity, and connection. Made from treasured fabric scraps or crafted for everyday warmth, quilts have played an important role throughout history. They traveled west with pioneers, provided comfort during challenging times like the Great Depression, and continue to pass memories and traditions from one generation to the next. More than just blankets, quilts bring people together.
Join us to explore the history and meaning of quilts and enjoy hands-on activities that invite all ages to create and connect. Families will have fun discovering how simple materials can become something meaningful—just like a quilt.
Formerly known as our Free Family Event series, Boone Youth Explorers is our newly renamed monthly program designed to spark curiosity and connect kids with local history through hands-on experiences.
Boone Youth Explorers is generously supported by Missouri Humanities and Missouri Arts Council. Financial assistance for this program has been provided by the City of Columbia, Office of Cultural Affairs.
