BREAKING PATTERNS – A REFLECTION OF FEMALE ARTISTS RELATED TO UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI’S SCHOOL OF VISUAL STUDIES

Our History and Culture Center is temporarily closed at least thru March 31st. All events including Meet the Authors and Concert Series through April 30 have been indefinitely postponed. 

Montminy Gallery is proud to present Breaking Patterns, a reflection of female artists related to MU School of Visual Studies.

Breaking Patterns is the start of our 2020 lineup of artists. This show was curated by Catherine Armbrust, Director, George Caleb Bingham Gallery and Adjunct Faculty.

As systematic patterns begin to shift so does the academic landscape nationwide, providing space for women in the field of Visual Art to forge through. Breaking Patterns is a grouping of female artists teaching and learning in this landscape.

Artists exhibiting are Catherine Armbrust, Director, George Caleb Bingham Gallery and Adjunct Faculty, Zoe Hawk, 2019 adjunct painting professor, C. Pazia Mannella, adjunct fibers professor, Jenn Bennett, staff and MFA graduate, Shannon Soldner, MFA graduate, J.M.

Thornton, assistant professor drawing/painting, and Anna Wehrwein, visiting assistant professor drawing/painting.

We hope you’ll join us for the opening reception of these talented artists, Feb. 15, 2-5pm.
