About

This show brings together five distinguished Asian art professors from universities across the region alongside three talented local artists, creating a dynamic collective of voices and perspectives. Representing cultural traditions from China, Korea, and Japan, the artists share work that celebrates heritage while exploring the ever-evolving conversation between East and West.

Timed to coincide with the Lunar New Year, Visions offers a festive and culturally rich experience for our members and community. The exhibition reception on February 19 will feature live performances on traditional Chinese instruments and a sampling of Chinese desserts, offering an inviting way to honor the season and the artists whose work makes this exhibit so special.

Visitors will encounter a wide range of media, including paintings, ceramics, and video pieces, each selected by the artists as one of their proudest creations. Together, these works form a thoughtful fusion of Eastern and Western artistic approaches, offering a rare chance to experience the depth, creativity, and contemporary relevance of Asian American art.

Financial assistance for this program has been provided by the City of Columbia, Office of Cultural Affairs.
