Begun in 1994, the Boone County Historical Society’s Historic Sites Committee identifies and recognizes historic sites in Boone County. Sites are nominated by BCHS membership and by members of the Committee. The Committee then selects sites to be included in our Register. As of March, 2025 the program has identified 54 sites throughout the county.
The six .pdf files for downloading are electronic copies of the printed Driving Tours available for $3.00 in our Boone County History & Culture Center’s museum gift shop. Each tour is produced to make it fun and easy to drive from site to site while exploring the history of Boone County.
