Job Opportunities

At the Boone County History & Culture Center, we inspire today’s citizens to learn from the experiences of local people—pre-history to the present—by sharing their stories in acclaimed exhibitions recognized by both the American Alliance of Museums and the London Guardian newspaper.

We also create a safe place for people of all ages to consider different perspectives through our speaker series, concerts, family events and more.

If you would like to be a part this dynamic approach to sharing important stories about our local heritage, we encourage you to learn more about our current job opportunities and internships.

Internships

The Boone County History & Culture Center encourages individuals to apply for internships, which are offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters. Internships are currently unpaid and may need to have a blended emphasis based on hours requirements, staff availability, and the current needs of the History & Culture Center.

An individual can expect to gain experience working in a 20,000-square foot museum setting, an 1877 home on the National Register of Historic Places, a “village” consisting of historic buildings from all over the county, and/or in the state-of-the-art Henry “Hank” J. Waters III Digital Imaging Lab, with a collection of 500,000+ glass plate and plasticine negatives.

Interested candidates should send a resume with a cover letter by email to Info@BooneHistory.org.
