Announcing a brand-new concert series! Join us for Storytellers, a series of intimate performances held in the Montminy Gallery right next to Blind Boone’s piano.

The first installment features the one and only Pat Kay of The Kay Brothers and MK Ultra serenading us with critter songs and sharing stories about folk songs that have deep roots in Missouri’s history.

Tickets are $20. We suggest you purchase your tickets in advance, but they will be available at the door. Please note, BCHS member discounts do not apply to this purchase.

Storytellers Series

This new take on the Blind Boone Piano Concert Series is being brought to you thanks to a new partnership. The Boone County History & Culture Center is teaming up with Colin LaVaute, host of The Big Muddy Music Hour on KBIA, for concerts featuring incredible artists that use their talents to create more than just music.

About the Blind Boone Piano Concert Series

Whether it is on the lawn in Nifong Park, in the Montminy Gallery or online, we will keep celebrating the musical legacy started by our own John W. “Blind” Boone in the Blind Boone Piano Concert Series. Each performer that takes our stage honors his ground-breaking life by forging their own new music traditions. Most concerts feature the marvelously restored 9-foot grand piano, which was custom built for Blind Boone in 1893.

Thank you to the Missouri Arts Council, the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs and Socket for supporting the Blind Boone Piano Concert Series.
