Hailing from the muddy banks of Hannibal, Missouri, Gabe Meyer has forged a name for himself as the harbinger of his own iterations of traditional and original blues tunes as the frontman of mid-Missouri legends The Flood Brothers.

Now, he will be gracing the Montminy Gallery with stories and rootsy blues tunes as our musical guest in the next edition of the Boone County History & Culture Center’s Storytellers Concert Series.

Meyer will play two sets aside the Blind Boone Piano. Adult beverages and light refreshments are furnished by our kind sponsor the Dive Bar! Tickets are limited, so reserve yours today!

Tickets are $15. We suggest you purchase your tickets in advance, but they will be available at the door.

Storytellers Series

This new take on the Blind Boone Piano Concert Series is being brought to you thanks to a new partnership. The History & Culture Center is teaming up with Colin LaVaute, host of The Big Muddy Music Hour on KBIA, for concerts featuring incredible artists that use their talents to create more than just music.

About the Blind Boone Piano Concert Series

Whether it is on the lawn in Nifong Park, in the Montminy Gallery or online, we will keep celebrating the musical legacy started by our own John W. “Blind” Boone in the Blind Boone Piano Concert Series. Each performer that takes our stage honors his ground-breaking life by forging their own new music traditions. Most concerts feature the marvelously restored 9-foot grand piano, which was custom built for Blind Boone in 1893.

Thank you to the Missouri Arts Council, the City of Columbia Office of Cultural Affairs and Socket for supporting the Blind Boone Piano Concert Series.
